Veterinary acupuncture is an ancient art of medicine that is believed to have originated in India at least 7000 years ago. It is, in the simplest sense, the treatment of conditions and symptoms by the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body to produce a response. This form of medicine has been developed through the centuries and is part of what we know today as Traditional Chinese Medicine. The ancient Chinese used their skills in this area to treat and prevent all diseases.
Veterinary acupuncture does not replace conventional medicine but provides an excellent addition to modern means of diagnosis and treatment. It is particularly useful when practiced as an adjunct therapy to chiropractic.
